How dictation practice helps

Trains the exact IELTS weakness

Losing marks on Listening is rarely about understanding meaning — it's dropped letters, mis-heard numbers, and unspelled names. Dictation drills that gap directly.

Instant, word-level feedback

Every word you type is checked against the recording the moment you press Check, so you see exactly which word broke — not just a final score.

Three levels of pressure

Easy warms up with single facts and spelled names. Medium adds a second detail per sentence. Hard runs at Part 4 pace with tricky spellings and numbers.

Frequently asked questions

What is dictation practice for IELTS Listening?

You listen to a short sentence and type exactly what you hear, then compare your answer word by word against the recording. It trains spelling accuracy and number recognition, which is where most Listening marks are lost even when comprehension is fine.

How is my answer checked?

Your typed answer is compared to the audio script word by word, ignoring case and surrounding punctuation. Correct words are highlighted, incorrect or missing words are marked, and the full correct sentence is shown after you check.

Is the audio real IELTS test content?

No. Every sentence is originally written for CD IELTS Prep and the audio is generated locally with text-to-speech, so there is no Cambridge, IDP, British Council, or other third-party test audio involved.
